We breed for genetic health, correct conformation, sound temperament, and gorgeous color & markings to bring you the best poodles in the world! We feed our Standard Poodles high quality food & daily vitamin supplements aiding in proper nutrition from the beginning. We have a "state-of-the-art" facility with controlled air-conditioning, heating, ceiling fans, and with 50 acres of land, our Standard Poodles get plenty of exercise for optimal bone & muscular development. We work closely with our veterinarian Dr. Chuck Dake to assure our Standard Poodles continue good health & are current on shots & worming. People who have allergies to dogs & cats can usually own a Standard Poodle without difficulty because they do not shed and are considered hypoallergenic.
Originally from France, some say Germany, Standard Poodles were used as hunting dogs because of their sharp minds and quick responses & have a long life span. Although the breed took its name from the German word "pudel," which means "to splash in water," the French were responsible for bringing the Poodle to international attention. The first Poodles in England were known as "Rough Water Dogs" and they served primarily as hunting companions. Poodles were first brought to the United States at the end of the 19th century, but the breed did not become popular until after World War II. By the mid '50s, the Poodle was the most popular breed in the United States, a position held for over 20 years.
