Tuxedo Standard Poodle, Josie
Hi, Linda, I thought you might like some pics of Cheyenne (now Josie---short for Josephine). Isn't she pretty? These pictures were taken today. By the way, Josie also has a middle name, as do all my dogs. Her full name is Josephine Louise, so sometimes she's called by J-Lo. (Jennifer Lopez should be flattered.) She is actually named after one of my aunts and one of my sisters. They, too, are flattered. Josie has been one of the easiest pups to raise I have ever had, and I have had 50+ years of dogs in my life, including some amazingly smart ones. She loves literally everyone, and she is polite about showing it. You did a good job of socializing her and seeing to it that she had a great start in life. Her groomer is absolutely in love with her. (You may have another customer from San Angelo one day.) Josie is a pure pleasure. She nailed Doggie Door 101 the first evening we had her, and there were no mistakes in the house after just a very few days of being here. The mistakes she did make were made in route to the doggie door and, I believe, were only because she was so young and still developing complete bladder control. There has been no serious chewing or destructiveness. I keep waiting for the "real" puppy to step forward, but Josie just seems to instinctively know what she should and should not do. After good night hugs and kisses on the bed, she chooses to sleep on the floor at the foot of the bed for the rest of the night, and she takes herself out, if needed, during the night. She is so observant. She taught herself to sit when the command was given to the other dogs in the household. I didn't even have to explain the command to her or prompt her through the maneuver a single time. (I almost feel like I'm not doing my job because she doesn't need a lot of explanation about the expectations I have for her.) When learning to sit, she just watched what the other dogs did when I asked them to sit, and now she sits on command when asked. She learned this on her own only a few days after joining the family when she was 8 weeks old. By now, of course, she knows a number of commands, and when I get more serious about teaching her, I am sure she will be able to do just about anything. I tease my college students that she has a better command of grammar than they do. Thanks for such a healthy, happy, amazing addition to our "pack." She's a joy and a dearly loved family member.
P.S. One of the pics is of all the "French" girls in the family. Two French bulldogs and Joise. Lynette (Texas)
Parti Standard Poodle, Gulliver
Hi Linda, Gulliver is doing fantastic !!!!!!! I thought you might get a kick out of this picture, as we did. We call him " Ali" after the boxer Mahammad Ali because he boxes everything with his feet. He is constantly slapping everyone and everything. It is so funny we just crack up. Well my niece came over to see him and I got this picture of him in action slapping her. It is too cute !!!!!!!!!!! And please note....he did NOT make contact with her face. It was to funny. I thought you might like to see this. Just know we are enjoying him so much as is everyone else he meets. He has ton's of personality and everyday we love him more and more as it is so fun to watch him grow up and be a part of his development. Denise
White Standard Poodle, Charlie
~On Vacation and needing a groom~ Hi Linda, It has been a year and ½ since we picked up our beautiful puppy from the airport. And, I have to say it has been a wonderful year and ½. We are so pleased with our dog Charlie. He is exactly what you said. He is so sweet and well behaved. People that meet him cannot believe how calm and attentive he is. He quickly adapted to his new family. He is great with my two children and loves to run, but never runs out of sight. He is a delight every day. Charlie has never given us a problem since we brought him home, seriously not even a tooth mark on a shoe!! It’s wonderful to have such a good dog. He's full of life, and such a lover boy!! We are always getting compliments on our "well-behaved dog" when we take him out. If I could describe him in one word... it would be "perfect". He is always nearby, and at about 80 lbs, he still thinks he's a lap dog! Loves to give hugs, curl up on your feet, follow us around, and is the most loyal boy you could ever ask for. I couldn't be happier with our decision to get a Standard Poodle from you. Thank you so much!!! Sincerely, The Barbier Family
Tuxedo Standard Poodle, Isabella
Isabella is a wonderful girl. She is very easy going and a lover of people and other dogs. She travels well on trips and is calm and quiet around the house. She wakes me up each morning at the same time by talking to me until I get up. It really is funny to see! At least she waits until 7:00 am or later. It used to be 6:00 am on the dot! Thanks for breeding such a wonderful dog! We love her. Sincerely, Kathy
Black Standard Poodle, Sasha
Ms. Zimmerman: I just had to send you a little update on Sasha. She is doing so great. She has already learned "sit" and "down" (lie down) and we are working on "wait". She also lets me know every time she needs to go out. I can't believe this dog. I have only had her a week and she is so wonderful. I can't tell you what a joy she has been to me this week. My husband is gone from Sunday to Friday each week (with no communication of any sort) and Sasha has been such a joy. She sleeps with me all night without a single movement. She also seems to always come and snuggle with me when I seem to need it the most. She has already become a very important part of my family. Thank you so much for all your help. I plan to be back next year for a baby sister for her.
Please feel free to list this on your customer feedback page. I hope all know that you are a wonderful person and raise wonderful pups. Thanks again. Amy
Phantom Standard Poodle, Bono
Hello Linda and Julie!
Bono (TJ) and I have only been together for a little over two weeks, but already I can't remember what life was like before he was here! He is great company for me. I didn't tell you when we were e-mailing back and forth that my mother passed away 2 months ago today. I miss her terribly and Bono has helped to ease some of that loneliness. My mother and I were very close. He is a wonderful puppy! Of course, I have to tell everyone that he is just a puppy. No one can believe that he isn't full grown. Everyone comments on how well-behaved and calm he is for a pup. As I am writing this, he is stretched out on the floor beside my bed. All of my friends want to take him home. I don't think I will have any trouble at all ever finding someone to "puppy sit" should I need it. So far, I just take him wherever I go and boy does he love to go! Visitors have to be careful when getting into their cars because Bono thinks every car is his. I take him to work with me and my co-workers adore him. I am the director of a domestic violence/sexual assault agency and I am hoping soon to take him to play with the children. He has shown that he is great with kids, even the tiniest of toddlers. He just recently turned into a good watch dog. This past Thursday, he barked at his first visitors. Before, anyone could walk through the door with just a tail wag. Now, he runs to the door at the first sound barking to let me know someone is there. He is also warming up to be quite the comedian. He has started putting his head down on the floor and doing a shoulder somersault into his favorite stretched out position. Every electrical cord he comes into contact with he somehow manages to wrap all around his body and attempts to chew. Just a little while ago he was sleeping with the computer cord wrapped around his front paws. He isn't hyper, or boisterous but he lets me know in this small way that he wants my attention. He is simply delightful and I thank you for him. You told me that you believed there was a dog out there for every person. I definitely believe I have found my doggie soul mate in Bono! I will probably have several referrals for you in time to come! I am attaching a picture of Bono at just over 4 months old with my niece. They absolutely love each other!
